Assignment 1 Documentation
The objective of this assignment was to practice the technical drawing skills acquired in Design 1 as wells as to demonstrate photography skills.The assignment then asked to combine photos taken to create a collage that dealt with the perspective of the bridge from the angle the photos were taken.
Assignment 2 Manipulation
This assignment required the development of individual concepts for each picture and then develop it using the tools in Photoshop. The idea was to take the tools acquired from the previous assignment and expand on them to create a set of images that each convey a point.
Assignment 3 Collage
The objective of Assignment 3 was to use the drafting and rendering skills acquired in Design 1 and combine them with the Photoshop skills acquired this semester. It then asked to overlay the analog drawings in Photoshop and then blend them together to create an image.
Assignment 4 Representation I
Assignment 4 asked to hand draft an object and scan it in to a computer. The the post processing skills used in past assignments to clean up the scan. Then the assignment required the installation of dimension stringers as well as the dimensions of the object.
Assignment 5 Representation II
Assignment 5 was an expansion of Assignment 4. The idea was to redraft the same object as before but this time it was drafted in AutoCad. Once the drafting was done then the line weights, text, and dimensions were all added in on Illustrator.
Assignment 6 Vectors
The objective of Assignment 6 was to create a self-portrait using Illustrator. It required the use of the pen tool and fill. The end goal was to gain a better understanding of Illustrator so as to be able to use it effectively in the future.
Assignment 7 Free Swim
The goal of this project was to be able to perfect an assignment in which was not accomplished successfully. This assignment allowed the re-visitation of an assignment in order to enhance the skills intended to be learned from said assignment.
Assignment 8 Constructs 1
Constructs 1 explored the practice of editing and cleaning up images of a model. It required the use of a complete set of skills in Photoshop.
Assignment 9 Constructs 2
Constructs 2 required an expansion on the Photoshop and Illustrator skills previously acquired. The goal was edit images already taken to add a texture, a digital scale figure, and an element from nature. It also required the use of Photoshop to superimpose an aerial shot of Chicken Point Cabin into a photo of the site acquired from Google Earth.
Assignment 11 Narrative 2
Narrative 2 introduced InDesign and required the creation of a competition board for Zaha Hadid’s The Maxxi Museum. The goal was to use the board to highlight important concepts of the building.
Assignment 12 Narrative 3
Narrative 3 allowed the expansion of preexisiting InDesign skills to create a Monograph style book about Zaha Hadid. The goal was to create a book that highlight the design concepts of that architect
Assignment 14 Redux
Redux is a cummalitive assignment that required the use of all the skills learned throughout the semester. The goal was to create a section perspective of a project and edit it into a nicely crafted image usiing the forementioned skills.
